A corona virus is coming for us 😱– that’s what you should be afraid of, right?
At least, media and politicians are stoking this fear. Others tend to spread virtually never-ending conspiracy theories.
The idea behind the blog team-fresh.eu is to spread hope and enthusiasm, and this is reflected in our motto, “Inspiration & Motivation”. Though the topic is a ‘glooming’ one it is meant to provide hope and inspiration. Let me assure you that you will be surprisingly optimistic and motivated after reading this article.
But first, let’s face the frightening and freaking question:
“Does the Coronavirus WANTS to kill us?”
The answer is no, it is not.
How can I be so sure about this? Well, to “want” something is a very human trait and we can hardly associate it with a virus. However, reproduction is the fundamental aspect of nature and throughout history, all the practically countless organisms out there have been adapting and developing according to their environments to fulfil their need for reproduction.
There is no reasonable justification to assume the malicious intent of the virus, because, in reality, the virus “just want to reproduce”.
But the important question here is: “Can our body cope with it?”
Let’s try to answer the question:
“Is a human body capable of coping with viruses and bacteria which want to reproduce in it?”
Again, with certainty, the answer is Yes! – but this time with some conditions and exceptions.
Viruses and bacteria are often blamed for our health issues. Especially, in this era of COVID-19, we hear a lot about the harms of viruses, and we are continuously told about the excessive need for cleaning our bodies to reduce the threat of the virus. But the reality is different, and I will emphasize this with facts and details in the following sections.
It is pertinent to note that viruses and bacteria are the oldest organisms on this planet and humans were only able to take form because, among other things, these organisms paved the way and made a symbiotic relationship with us.
Our bodies need almost innumerable bacteria and viruses to function properly. This fact should make us realize that these viruses and bacteria are not as bad as they are generally projected. But we often forget this fact!
But if viruses and bacteria aren’t actually “bad”, why do “a lot” of people die because of COVID-19?
Why are people dying from the infection? Is this the right question to ask?
To answer this question, we must understand the impacts of the infection on our bodies.
What Does COVID-19 Do to Our Bodies?
When a virus enters our body, it continues to “pursue its goal” of unceasing reproduction. Viruses have several ways to reproduce and it is not necessarily like the way humans do.
COVID-19 requires host cells to reproduce and in case it enters a human body, it uses host cells from the body to distribute itself. I don’t want to go into the scientific details here because it is out of the scope of this article but if you are interested in knowing the details of the reproduction process, the following link would be beneficial: (Corona’s replication cycle)
When a virus tries to negatively impact our body cells, our immune system is designed by nature to defend the body. Our immune system kills the affected cell and produces antibodies that can also protect future cells from falling to prey of the infection.
That is just a brief overview of the topic, but I believe it would help you to reconsider the current situation with a new approach.
It is essential to realize that we all have a defence system provided by nature to safeguard us from attacks like the one from COVID-19.
That sounds like we all have a built-in defense system, which can effectively protect us from e.g. a “corona virus attack” …
…so Why are People Dying of COVID-19?
Media spreads:
“People with a weakened immune system are particularly at risk. The risk group are people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, high blood pressure etc., especially people 65+.”
Is that factually incorrect? No.
But is that all the information we need to correctly assess the situation? No.
Let’s Understand our Immune System First
As mentioned earlier, our immune system is designed by nature to defend us from attacks from harmful bacteria and viruses. But the rampant spread of Coronavirus affecting millions of people worldwide forces us to think, why is the immune system of so many people is unable to defend them from the virus? It is also pertinent to know, what the chronic diseases that are deteriorating the situation are?
Humans are bound to interact with their environment and unfortunately, the environment is becoming more and more polluted and harmful for health. This weakens the immune system and humans become vulnerable to attacks from the viruses.
Common Diseases
Many people in western countries suffer from chronic diseases and some of the diseases increase the risks of COVID-19.
With the changing lifestyles and deteriorating environment, trends show an increase in the number of patients suffering from these diseases. Heart attacks or diseases like cancer or diabetes have seen a sharp increase in their prevalence in recent years. A few decades ago, some of these diseases were only related to only some specific social groups or age bracket. Like 100 years ago, a heart attack was called a “manager illnes” and for sure not something “normal”. It is quite the same with cancer, which nowadays seems to be something like:””Well, it is normal to get cancer at some point in life – so many people do”. Thinking about Diabetes, it is even getting worse, as, according to the newest results, Diabetes can be something completely “home-made”, resulting from unhealthy nutrition.
Conclusion
A body’s immune system gets hurt when it faces some serious disease for a long time and such a body becomes vulnerable to new attacks from viruses like coronavirus. For patients already suffering from a chronic disease, and hence having a weak immune system, COVID-19 can be fatal!
At this point, I would like to send my sympathies and best wishes to everyone who suffered from the COVID-19 in any way.
In this article, I want to present a holistic view of the issue and suggest remedies. Let me reemphasize here that actually it is the weak immune system that could not tolerate the attack from the virus.
So, the barrel is bursting because of the Corona “drop”…
So, who is to be Blamed, Coronavirus or Weakened Immune System?
Can we blame COVID-19 for the large number of deaths worldwide, or is it the weaker immune system of the victims?
We must see the bigger picture and realize that the virus may have taken a lot of precious lives, but it is not the real problem. At the end of this pandemic, we will have to face more challenges like this.
So what is it really about? What Causes the Rampant Spread of the Diseases?
An unhealthy environment is the reason behind the illnesses. There is an immense relation between the quality of the environment we live in and our health.
Several factors play a negative role in damaging our environment and hence our health. Issues like air pollution, water pollution, unhealthy food, unhealthy lifestyles, lack of social connections, and stress are just a few of the challenges faced by people these days.
All of these factors are caused by us, humans and ironically behind every factor, there is a large industry, which merely focuses on its profits and does not take enough measure to safeguard the environment and the human beings affected by it.
Health and Individual responsibility
In recent years, more and more people are trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Though in many places such as those in Central Europe, it is difficult to get rid of the air pollution, but individuals may try to eat healthier organic food and exercise regularly to cope with stress and other health issues.
Realizing individual responsibility is extremely critical for maintaining personal health. Most of the time, is not a wise choice to make eating decisions based on what media suggests.
Will the COVID-19 pandemic end with a Vaccine?
Yes, experts believe that the pandemic will end once a vaccine is out in the market.
No, the real problem is not solved by that.
The vaccine is expected by many to end all the issues but in reality, the problem is much more complex than vaccine-providers s might want us to believe.
COVID-19 is not the last virus humanity has to suffer from. The pharmaceutical companies, motivated only by their monetary benefits, are getting ready to offer us the ideal solution for all the viruses that have to attack us in future. Ironically, sick persons are the ones the most profit can be generated from. Long-term healthy people are much less interesting in that matter – never forget that!
There is a need to look for alternate solutions to counter the issue.
One solution to this and future pandemics is boosting the immune system.
And now, finally, here it comes:
Motivation & Inspiration
The immune system gets damaged by humans’ lifestyles and environmental issues and resolving these issues can strengthen the system. The practices that are useful to boost the immune system can be easily followed by taking collective approach responsibility.
However, achieving the goal of attaining and maintaining a better immune system is possible with willpower and efforts. That is why, it is important to me and the team of TeamFresh.eu, to show real opportunities for bringing positive changes to lifestyle and business using this blog.
It is need of the hour that our industries, instead of just focusing on their financial gains, also pay attention to public health and develop products that are beneficial for health. Unfortunately, right now, very few companies have such a balanced approach.
However, there are companies which are mindful about public health issues and follow good practices that benefit the public and environment.
Let me say again, most of our problems are man-made and can be solved by our collective efforts!
So, Let’s get to work!
Let us think again about what is good for us and try to be creative to get rid of so many avoidable problems.
But Much More Important at the Beginning:
Let us build a habit to critically analyse the ideas that we receive from various sources instead of simply jumping on the bandwagon. Every crisis, like this one, is an opportunity to be creative and improve something.
I would like you to be critical about this post too, don’t just believe what I have written here. Think critically and question my conclusions. Let us talk about this post in the comments section.
